I was born in Cuenca (in the region of La Mancha, like Don Quijote), Spain, in 1975.
I received a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from
Polytechnical University of Valencia, Spain, in 1999, with a Master
Thesis on Image and Video Processing. I obtained my PhD in Mathematical
Morphology and Image Processing, from the MINES Paristech (Ecole des
Mines de Paris, France), in
2003, under the guidance of Prof. Jean Serra.
I am currently a
permanent researcher (Chargé de Recherche) in the Center of
Mathematical Morphology
(Department of Mathematics and Systems) at MINES ParisTech.
On this site I summarise my research
work in the areas of Multivariate Image Processing (colour,
hyper/multi-spectral, temporal series, tensor imaging) and Mathematical
Morphology (filtering, segmentation, shape and texture analysis,
stochastic and geometric approaches), and their application to the
development of theoretically-sound and high-performance algorithms and
software in the fields of
Biomedicine/Biotechnology, Remote Sensing and Industrial Vision.
