Introduction
Xlim3d is an image processing software developed by the Center of Mathematical Morphology. It is used as development tool by the researchers of the laboratory.
Description
The main component of Xlim3D is an image processing library. This library offers most of the tools of Mathematical Morphology, from the basic ones, such as dilations and erosions, to the most advanced such as the watershed or the segmentation of image sequences. These functions have been implemented using very fast algorithms, such as those using hierarchical queues. The library contains also more classical image processing functions, like for example Fourier transforms and convolutions.
This library is used through a XLISP-STAT interface.
Present and future
Today Xlim3D is used as development platform by many researchers in the CMM.
The algorithms implemented in Xlim3D have been used in the development of the commercial software APHELION(tm), which allows everybody to use the most advanced tools of image processing.
